August is a great month to visit Disneyland Paris, France. It’s warm and sunny, not too crowded and the enchanting city of Paris is more peaceful than usual, as Parisians tend to swap city for coast this month.

Furthermore, Disney Summer is still in full swing so make the most of the fun and get yourself and your family over to Paris and join in before the summer is over!

Brand new for this summer season is the smash-hit Disney Dreams®! show (which 3.1. million guests from around the world have already enjoyed) becomes interactive thanks to the very latest technology: the “Disney Light’Ears“. Guests will be able to wear Mickey ears that light up and change colour in sync with the show.

6th July to 1st September 2013 is set to be the best period of the year to experience the 20th Anniversary celebration of Disneyland Paris with family and friends in a burst of magic, light and colour and unforgettable encounters.

A brand new interactive experience

Disney Dreams®! becomes even more magical with new interactive technology and two incredible, never seen before sequences!

The winner of the prize for best production at the IAAPA’s Brass Ring Awards(1), Disney Dreams®! is a unique show created to celebrate Disneyland Paris’ special birthday. With the latest technology, spectacular lasers and fountains, sensational pyrotechnics and a dazzling finale, Disney Dreams®! is an extravaganza of light and colour that brings the most famous Disney stories to life through amazing projections on the Sleeping Beauty Castle and its surroundings.

For its extended 20th Anniversary celebration, Disneyland Paris had a special new surprise for its guests: scenes from the films Brave and The Lion King had just been added to the show, making it even more magical and emotive! And these films weren’t chosen at random: they were chosen by fans of the Park via its Facebook page and from the results of a guest survey carried out on the streets of Disneyland Paris. With the panache of the red-headed heroine and the courage of the legendary Simba, Disney Dreams®! promises to be even more of an extravaganza than ever before.

New: The Disney Light’Ears glow with the Disney Dreams®! Show

This summer 2013, another major innovation for Disney Dreams®! is brought right to the public: the show becomes interactive and even more brightly lit thanks to the new ” Disney Light’Ears “, which are synchronized to change colour with the show. Using the very latest infra-red technology, these magic ears glow with iridescent light that changes colour in time with Disney Dreams®! and makes the show even more spectacular as night falls over the Park. This new experience takes Disney Dreams®! to even greater heights of awe-inspiring wonder for its spectators.

Fun interactive versions of the famous Mickey Ear hats incorporate the latest, infra-red trigger technology to engage the audience during Disney Dreams®!. The Ears hats feature iridescent lights that change to complement the imagery and beat of the show. When not activated by the show, more surprises are in store for guests as the magical ears glow and change colours. Additionally, the hats can interact with others around and can synchronize with those around.

This new technology has already been experimented in California during “World of Colour” and has won a Brass Ring Award from the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA).

“The Disney Light’Ears let our guests become part of the colour of Disney Dreams®! show,” said Steve Davison, Vice President, Parades & Spectaculars Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment. “Embedded pixels allow the Ears to dance and play along with each musical sequence. It truly brings the show’s environment out of the Castle and into the audience in an amazing and dazzling new way.”

The classic, black Mickey Mouse ear hat has been a Disney Parks guest favourite. Across the decades, there have been more than 200 different ear hats including limited editions and novelty editions. Today, using the latest technology, the new ears Disney Light’Ears bring the audience in the magic world of Disneyland Paris.

Since Disneyland Park opened in 1955, guests have purchased more than 85 million Mickey Ear hats. They are one of many popular items proposed by Disney Theme Park Merchandise.

Each set of Disney Light’Ears will be available for 20€ at selected locations throughout Disneyland Paris and online (disneystore.fr and disneystore.co.uk).
