In August, temperatures are starting to drop. Throughout the day, average temperatures are estimated at 25ᵒC and humidity levels exceed 80%. There are 10 hours of sunshine during this month and the average rainfall exceeds 110 mm.
Sea temperatures are between 20 and 23ᵒC and the wind is slowly intensifying during this time. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t great activities you can practice in August. Opt for a New York City bus tour for example, or you can choose to take part in the plethora of events such as the HBO/Bryant Park Film Festival, Harlem Week or Shakespeare in the Park.
