Weather : Snow fell at the beginning of the week and we had snow flurries on other days. It was very cold but it added to the Christmas atmosphere.

Holiday : New York was noisy, busy & fun. It is especially magical at Christmas time. Staying mid town meant we were close to 37 Broadway theatres, thousands of restaurants and shops including, Bloomingdales, Macy's and the Apple Store. The subway took us quickly and cheaply to other areas such as Little Italy, China Town & SoHo.

Despite its past reputation, mid-town NY is safe to walk and travel around.

Places Recommended : Top of the Rock for fantastic city views. Central Park for peace and quiet.
The Staten Island Ferry (it's free). On the way over you pass the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. On the way back you see the Manhattan sky line.
