Averages for Montego Bay in July

Now one of the premier tourist cities in the Caribbean, Montego Bay is located on the northwest coast of Jamaica.  With access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the area, Montego Bay is a one of a kind holiday experience.

The high mid-summer heats continue throughout July, with temperatures of 24 to 33 degrees Celsius making this month one of the hottest of the year in Montego Bay. The long, warm days ensure the summer is a busy time on the island, although the increasing rainfall should be considered. July is part of Montego Bay's rainy season, and around 60 mm is expected. The entire island, and most of the Caribbean, is subject to these weather patterns.

One activity that can be done with an umbrella if needed, is shopping on Gloucester Avenue.  Also known as the “Hip Strip” in Montego Bay, there is a shop or restaurant that will meet everyone’s tastes.  On this road, there are 13 hotels, over 60 stores and over 35 bars and restaurants.  In addition, there are banks, beaches and car rental facilities.  If you’d rather not walk in the crowds, you can take a complimentary Pedi cab, sponsored by Margaritaville.

For dinner, stop into Nikkita’s on Gloucester Avenue for a pricey but delicious meal.  Nikkita’s offers exemplary French-Caribbean cuisine in an elegant dining room with marble floors.  You can savour the fresh catch of the day, including mahi-mahi and lobster or choose from a variety of delicious steak entrees.

For a luxurious, all-inclusive hotel, look into the Sunset Beach Resort Spa and Waterpark.  Rooms here have ocean or bay views with mahogany beds and balconies.  Four restaurants, five bars, a club and nightly entertainment await you at the Sunset Beach Resort for a rate of £115 per night.
