Magaluf has a typically Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters. Marking the start of winter, December is a colder month in Magaluf, but the resort still offers an escape from the freezing weather of the UK at this time of year. Average temperatures this month are around 10°C, though high temperatures can still reach a pleasant 15°C during the day. Night time is when the temperatures really drop, and holiday makers should make sure to pack some warmer layers to wear if they plan to go out on an evening. The average low temperature this month is just 5°C.

With temperatures much lower than summer, the weather is not ideal for sunbathing, though chilling out during the day at the hotels' many swimming pools or on the beach is still an option. Tourists would be advised not to swim in the sea at this time of year though, as the waters can feel rather chilly. Average sea temperatures have fallen to just 16°C and there are probably not many swimmers brave enough to take a dip in this.

Eating and drinking out

Magaluf has more than enough great places to eat and drink, even in the quieter month of December. For an unforgettable dining experience, La Boedga is one of the most talked about restaurant in the resort, and for good reason. Delicious food and a rustic atmosphere combine at this authentic Tex Mex restaurant which caters to customers of all ages. The huge menu features choices such as fajitas, steak and tapas as well as a selection of tasty cocktails.

Another winner is Palm Beach Restaurant. The beach side establishment has an upmarket feel and is a great place to go for an evening meal with friends or family. Their unique Black Rock grill offers a choice of meat and fish which is served on volcanic rocks so guests can cook their meal to their own liking.

Finally, a trip to Magaluf wouldn't be complete without sampling its famous nightlife and one of the best places to do this is Coco Bongos.
