Weather : Usually hot and dry, have been many times but only once had rain, but when it rains it rains! thankfully more showers than sustained.

Holiday : onlt 2 resorts on the island, lefkas own and Nydri. Nydri is the main resort, lovelly bay with views across to 7 islands, including onassis' island of skorpios. Beach very narrow, but not normally crowded. don't want too many people to find out about this place or it could spoil it's charm. ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday, people very, very friendly. Many bars and excellent restaurants line the sea front mainly around the bay area. bars shut when you are ready to go! Local bakeries bake on the premises and open till very late in the evenings. restaurants excellent sellin local produce and frsh meats and fish, often from the local sea!

Places Recommended : Toms restaurant on the side of the bay in Nydri isa must, so is the stone house (Johnnies Bar) in the main street in Nydri.
Take the ferry across to the small islands, only 2 Euros, about a 40 minute trip, passing all the little islands, running regularly, you can spend as little or as long as you wish at the other end and explore the islands. Much cheaper than taking the regular boat trips that ply from the harbour. If you are more adventuruous ther is a water sports pier next to Toms.
Local buses into Lefkas town run most days and are frequent and cheap, have a look around he old quarter, but do not miss the new area, not always easy to find, but next to the man made harbour and nesting area for lots of sea birds.
