oldies visit to bangkok and koh samui

The weather in Bangkok was very hot and in koh samui it was also very hot but also had quite a lot of rain which was very welcome in short spells

Holiday

Bangkok was very busy and overcrowded not reccommended for anybody who is wanting a peaceful holiday, things were not as cheap as I was told wine very expensive and not freely available!

Koh Samui- chewang beach is very noisy, very smelly and very seedy but I must say the ladyboys were beautiful we went to a couple of cabarets very very entertaining I can see why the blokes love it here lots of Thai women waiting.

We went on a Jeep Safari which we really enjoyed and also went on a boat trip which included a rice boat and it included a fruit buffet which was lovely!!

Weather

Weather can be rainy at times
but it is always hot.

Best not to expect blue sky all the time
as Ko Samui is tropical and a small island
so is subject to varying weather a bit like
England.

Holiday

We bought a holiday home on Samui after visiting it in 1989 for the first time
It was just coconut plantations and a few
bars in Chawang but that was it's charm.

We bought our house in 2006 and go on holiday there twice a year in June & December.

We love the peace and quiet and would
recommend it for the lovely beaches
and friendly locals.

Weather was good.
Few rainy days but that is expected for this time of the year Dec 26th 2007 to Jan 16th 2008

Holiday

Our holiday was superb as we have been 5 times now it seems to get better every year.
Can't wait for Dec to come round to enjoy another 3 weeks in paradise.

Fine clear skies most of the time. There was rain on two occasions but only lasted an hour or two. Considering there was a cyclone a few hundred miles to the north in Burma, we were fortunate. Got a tan anyway.

Holiday

Little disappointed at first when travelling from the airport. The towns are a bit tatty and untidy. We thought we were in for an uncomfortable stay in poor accomodation but we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the private resort itself. The chalet was very comfortable and the large infinity pool and the facilities around the resort were fantastic, complete with a health spa. The extremely pleasant staff could not do enough for the guests, even providing golf type buggies to ferry us around the resort.

One thing that disappointed was the very high price of wine and drinks.
