Summer
In the summer you will find it can
get extremely hot. The daily high
temperature range in July is a blistering 30°C to 42°C, with night time
temperatures only falling between 25°C and 30°C. Fortunately, the warm waters
of the Med provide a relief from the heat. (See here for
average water temperature across the year.) Summer temperatures continue well
into October, which still sees a temperature range of 25°C to 30°C.
Spring, between March and May, also
offers some near-perfect weather. While the beginning of the season can be quite
cool, from the beginning of April temperatures in the low 20s can be seen on
sunny days and towards summer they are guaranteed; May has an average high of
25°C. Rain is still possible but rapidly decreases as the season progresses and
sunshine levels are consistently great, getting higher and
higher towards summer.
Winter
Winter starts pretty suddenly come December when daily high temperatures of 20°C to 13°C occur, dropping down to between13°C and 7°C in the evenings. January is the coldest month of the year, though the mercury will almost never drop below freezing.
Late autumn and winter are the
wettest times of the year and as the locals will tell you: when it rains, it
pours. December and January each record in excess of 200mm of rain on
average. The skies will open for a pretty short amount of time and soon after
you will see the return of clear sunny skies. In fact, Kemer records 300 days a
year of sunny, clear blue skies - heaven!
