Averages for Icmeler in June
Summer is arriving in Icmeler, Turkey, in June. The average daily temperature has climbed into the 20s and now reaches 21°C, which is an increase of four degrees compared to the previous month of May. The average daily high temperature is now higher than 25°C and even the average daily low temperature is a comfortable 17°C. Both the daily highs and lows increase in the course of the month; the difference between the first day of the month and the last day is four degrees for both temperatures. The sea temperature, too, is four degrees higher than the previous month and is a comfortable 23°C. The temperature of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas is only higher in July, August and September.
June has virtually no rainfall and only a couple of days with precipitation. While there still is a tiny chance of rainfall on any given day in June, you most likely won’t have to worry about getting wet this time of year. This is the time to hit the beach. June 1 is the wettest day of the month with a 13% of rainfall. June 30 is the driest day of the month with a mere 5% chance of precipitation. June is the third-driest month of the year, after the scorching hot and dry months of July and August. In June, by far the most common type of rainfall are thunderstorms. They occur on no less than 73% of the days with rainfall. Light rain occurs on 19% of the rainy days and moderate rain on 7%.
When it comes to sunshine, there are worse places to be than Icmeler in June. Now, there are ten glorious hours of sunshine per day, allowing you to spend the majority of the day working on your tan on the beach or cooling off in the sea. June is the third-sunniest month of the year, again after the two high-season months of July and August.
June is also the third-clearest month of the year, although September is a very close fourth. Cloud cover decrease significantly in the course of the month. June 1 is the cloudiest day of the month with 31% of cloud cover. The clearest day is June 30 with only 16% of cloud cover left. June 30 is, for example, overcast for only 2% of the time.
The length of the days in June is basically constant. The shortest day of the month is June 1, which has 14.31 hours of daylight. The longest day of the month and also of the entire year is June 20 with 14.40 daylight hours. By June 30 the length of the day has decreased slightly to 14.37 hours of daylight.
June is characterised by warm temperatures – about 10% of the days are classified as hot and 50% as warm – and almost no rainfall. The mass of summer tourists starts to arrive near the end of the month, so the first part of June is definitely an excellent time to visit if you don’t like large crowds.
Things to do
Atlantis Waterpark is one of two great waterparks in Marmaris, the neighbouring town. This big waterpark is a great place to cool off from the intense heat. Atlantis Waterpark is located at the seafront on Marmaris Long Beach and can be reached by public transport from Icmeler. If you’re staying in one of the nearby hotels, the park provides a free shuttle service.
Atlantis Waterpark even has its own private beach, with sun beds and umbrellas that can be used free of charge, and a total of nine waterslides. Smaller kids will have a great time in Kids Land, while the Wave Pool is a popular hang-out place for adults. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the three restaurants and enjoy a drink at the Wavepool bar.

A fun-packed way to experience the beautiful nature, spectacular mountains, canyons and fast-flowing rivers that surround Icmeler is by whitewater rafting. The action takes place on the Dalaman River and your activity-packed day also includes swimming, lunch and spectacular views.
Hit the beach
Icmeler Beach is often considered as the best beach in the region. It consists of golden sand, azure-blue waters and has a stunning mountain background. The beach is six kilometres long and a centre for all kinds of water sports, from jet skiing and parasailing to swimming and banana boating.
Make sure to slop on sunscreen when you hit the beach though. The sun really burns this time of year. Drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol during the day also helps to stay clear of sunstroke.
Where to eat and drink
Deniz Kapisi is a wonderful restaurant located right at the beach in the south of the resort. It has an open-air rooftop terrace restaurant, ground floor bar and a wooden jetty off the beach. On the extensive menu are soups, cold and hot starters, more than a dozen salads, steaks, chicken dishes, kebabs, seafood, casseroles and fajitas, as well as vegetarian dishes. The restaurant also serves various pastas and pizzas and has a great selection of desserts and beverages.
Datca is another popular resort in the region, home to many excellent restaurants. Two suggested ones are Fevzinin Yeri Restaurant and Ogun’s Place. The first one is a traditional Turkish tavern and an ideal place to sample authentic Turkish seafood and soak up the culture. The latter is famed for its oven-baked bread and other homemade food.
Where to stay
The Marti La Perla Hotel is located on its own private beach in the centre of the resort. This four-star hotel has 195 rooms, each of which is equipped with a bathroom, TV, mini-bar, balcony and safe box. Amenities include an Italian, Turkish and international restaurant, a lobby bar, beachside bar, 24-hour room service, an outdoor pool, a wellness centre with saunas and steam rooms, beauty services and a hair salon, a meeting room, a game room, children’s club and gift shops. Sports facilities are a fitness centre, diving club, table tennis, two tennis courts, and (non-)motorised water sports. The entertainment program consists of morning gym sessions, sports tournaments, pool games, stage shows, daytime animation shows and performances in the 300-seat theater.
