Averages for Gumbet in June
Located just 2 miles west of the world famous Turkish resort of Bodrum lies Gumbet, a once small and quiet village that transformed almost overnight into a top nightlife destination. Visitors are drawn to the budget accommodations, beaches, watersports and endless clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Gumbet is known for its warm Mediterranean climate, and June is when things really start to heat up. Temperatures frequently surpass the 30 degree mark in June, and can even be as warm as the low 20’s overnight. Rainfall takes a massive hit from previous months, with just 7.5mm expected on average.
Make the most of the nice weather and do a bit of island hopping. A short 1 hour boat ride from the southern Bodrum peninsula will have visitors on the Greek island of Kos. Stop by some shops for a few Greek-influenced antiques and souvenirs before heading to the Asklepieion. Having been the site of the world’s first hospital, this is one of Greece’s most important historical sites. First Choice offer return transportation from Gumbet for £16, or £8 for children. Don’t forget the passport!
After a busy day, relax at Gumbet’s Cafe Cafen. This bar / lounge / coffee shop / restaurant serves up huge European-style cappuccinos, as well as light nibbles and sandwiches and mouthwatering desserts.
Stay at the £55 per night Magnific Hotel, where guests are instructed to ‘check-in and chill out’. Rooms are large and spacious by Turkish standards and the all-inclusive option is ideal for those planning to spend a lot of time on the complex. The hotel boasts its own pool and private beach as well as a seafood restaurant, Italian restaurant, and Turkish restaurant specialising in kebabs. The hotel is located on the North side of Gumbet Bay.
