There are several festivals that take place this month.

The Edinburgh International Science Festival around the beginning of the month is a two week festival that takes place at around 20 venues.

There are many talks, presentations, demonstrations and interactive exhibits.

The Rugby Sevens is a popular rugby tournament held just outside Edinburgh.

And the Beltane Fire Festival takes place on Calton Hill. This is a somewhat primal celebration, with body painting, dancing and drumming. Around 15,000 people arrive to spectate so avoid it if you do not enjoy noisy crowds.
