Dalyan is a semi-popular resort town located on the south western coast of Turkey.

Its main claim to fame is the endangered Loggerhead turtles that use its beach to lay their eggs. There are quite a few things to do in Dalyan, all involving nature and the natural resources of the area. One of the charms of Dalyan is that it remains quite rustic in most areas despite the attention it receives as a tourist destination.

The main points of interest at the city ruins are the Acropolis, which overlooks the city of Dalyan, the amphitheater which is very near the Acropolis and the palaestra complete with a domed basilica that was Byzantine in design and the roman baths.

Archaeological excavations on the site began in 1966 and continue to this day.
