August is one of the hottest and most popular months to visit in Dalaman. Temperatures can soar to around 31°C during the day and only slightly drop to 21°C on a night, making for some pleasant evening strolls.

It’s advisable to stay out of the sunshine during the hottest part of the day – between 11am and 2pm – to avoid sunstroke and sunburn, but make sure you cover up or wear suntan lotion throughout the day regardless – you don’t want to ruin your holiday on the first day by getting burnt.

If you want seemingly never-ending stretches of golden sand, head to the Patara Beach which is an astonishing 14.2km long. With so much room, you’ll certainly be able to find the perfect spot, even during the busiest times.

The Palmiye Restaurant is a great place to eat if you’re looking for good food and picturesque surroundings. Set in natural gardens, this restaurant is open from 9am until late and offers a cheap Turkish menu full of traditional dishes.
