Averages for Costa Adeje in April
April is the beginning of spring in Costa Adeje and because of this, the temperatures start to rise, as does the amount of daily sunshine. Costa Adeje is one of the sunniest areas on Tenerife and is a popular resort throughout the year, thanks to the hot summers and warm winters.
By April, temperatures are beginning to get warmer still and it’s the ideal time of year to visit if you want to enjoy some warmer weather without having to tackle the crowds that descend on the island during the peak summer months.
At this time of year, the average temperature is 19°C, with highs of 22°C and lows of 16°C. There's 31mm of average rainfall for the whole month. The average sea temperature is an inviting 20°C and there are around 11 hours of sunshine each day.
Dates for the diary
Easter sees the weather hot up in Costa Adeje. Palm Sunday is celebrated and streets are dressed with palm fronds. There are Easter parades during Semana Santa (Easter Week) in most towns across the island. In Adeje there is an amazing piece of street theatre, where actors play out all of the events of the Easter story, with cross carrying and an eerily realistic crucifixion.
Things to do
Families travelling with young kids won’t want to miss the chance to spend an afternoon at Miki Park. Located on the top floor of the El Duque Commercial Centre, this indoor play park offers a wealth of things to see and do for the little ones. Whilst the adults are enjoying a coffee at the bar-restaurant, the children can play in the ball pool, race go-karts, have a go at crazy golf or explore the playground. Open every day from 11am until 10pm, Miki Park is a great place to seek some shade during summer or while away a less than sunny day in Costa Adeje.
When it comes to retail therapy, it’s tough to beat the selection of shops and boutiques available at Commercial Centre Plaza del Duque. Located within the resort of El Duque, this large shopping centre is spread over several floors and is a fantastic place to shop ‘til you drop, enjoy a meal or pause for a coffee. You’ll find a great range of stores available here, with everything from top end designer brands and popular high street names to everyday supermarkets and handicraft stalls, ensuring something to suit every pocket and style.

Azulón is a newly-opened trendy restaurant, specialising in modern European cuisine. Here you’ll find an a la carte menu full of traditional international dishes, each with a unique modern twist which brings it straight into the 21st century. If you can’t decide what to order, choose the current tasting menu which features around seven courses of the restaurant’s best dishes. Not just a place for a meal out, Azulón also offers a number of gastronomic courses, including cooking for two, Japanese cuisine and the gin and tonic experience.
St Eugen’s is known as one of the very best cabaret bars in Tenerife.
