Things to do

If you want to explore nature then there is no better place to visit than Zoomarine. Located in Albufeira, it's just 23 minutes from Carvoeiro via car. One of the biggest attractions in the Algarve, it opens from April to October so now is your chance to visit before it closes for the season. At Zoomarine, you can watch the dolphin displays, sea lion show or even view the dinosaur exhibition which is interactive. You can also view the incredible bird show or learn more about turtles in the 4d cinema. If that wasn't enough, there are several fairground rides, a swimming pool and water slides for those visiting to enjoy. If you ever wanted to interact with dolphins then this is your chance as you can get up close and learn about training techniques. It's a fairly expensive treat away from the main park but it's truly a once in a lifetime experience. Furthermore, you can also find out about the rescue programme at the rehabilitation centre. The park rescues creatures that have been washed up on local beaches and helps to restore them to their former health.
