The daily average temperature for Carvoeiro in June is approximately 21 °C. There is very little rain during the month with only around 8mm expected. Pack your beach clothes as its sunshine season. The highest ever recorded temperature for Carvoeiro in June has been a sweltering 37 °C with the lowest being eleven degrees Celsius. However, temperatures are normally around the high teens and low twenties. Humidity for the resort is somewhere around 63% but visitors to the area shouldn't feel any discomfort. The weather at this time of the year is perfect for sunbathing and taking part in water sports. This four star accommodation is set in a garden filled property with a large swimming pool. Best of all, this resort is close to the popular Praia do Carvoeiro beach and the quaint downtown centre. Each hotel room offers a private bathroom, television, minibar and free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy the hot tub and sauna, games room, indoor pool, restaurant, bar and library. There's also on site shops and a babysitting service if you want to relax without the kids for an hour or two. The local golf course in within 3km which means this hotel is more than perfect for those that want to be close to several attractions.

Alternatively, consider staying at the Apartamento Neptuno. Just 100 yards away from the beach, this accommodation boasts a bathroom, living area, sleeping quarters and fully equipped kitchen. A shared outdoor pool and barbecue facilities are also on site. This two bedroom apartment sleeps five people and it's close to a range of attractions. Lagoa is only ten minutes away via car and you can enjoy a wine tasting session here. The local golf club is less than four miles away and Benagil Beach allows you to explore several caves and picturesque views.

Things to do

There are lots of attractions for those visiting the Algarve. June is the ideal time to visit a water park. Aqualand is open from the 15th of the month and is located in Alcantarilha. It's only 18 minutes away from Carvoeiro via car and it's a park that many will enjoy, especially in the summer heat. Aqualand boasts several rides and slides for those of all ages. The outdoor water park will give you the adventure of a lifetime with the Kamikaze ride. Go from 36m high to ground level in just four seconds – it will literally take your breath away! Children will love Kidzworld with two outdoor pools filled with slides, fountains and castles. If you get hungry, you can stop for a bit to eat in the restaurant or even bring a picnic along with you to enjoy!

With a luxurious outdoor terrace, Julio's Restaurant is a great option for al fresco dining and taking advantage of the sunshine. This eatery has both traditional and internationally inspired dishes. They have a large variety of fish dishes as well as grilled and roasted meals. Alternatively, consider dining at O Pescador. Overlooking Benagil Beach, this eatery offers the most spectacular scenic views alongside delicious seafood platters. With rustic décor, you can also enjoy meat dishes as well as sampling a range of Portuguese wines.

If you want to relax with a few drinks then head to Manoels Jazz Club. This popular establishment is loved by locals and jazz enthusiasts. The chic bar allows you to enjoy listening to music while unwinding with a few beverages. If it's especially warm then head out to the terrace and Main Square and take in the atmosphere of the town. There are also regular concerts held here too so it's the ideal place to be entertained.
