Averages for Carvoeiro in April

Located on the southern coast of Portugal on the Atlantic Ocean, Carvoeiro is quickly becoming a popular holiday destination.  The fishing village has stunning rock formations carved by ocean water, access to historic ruins as well as a relaxed, charming atmosphere.

April marks the beginning of spring and the tourist season in Carvoeiro.  Warmer temperatures and a drop in rainfall greet travellers before the busy summer season settles in.  The average temperature ranges from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius throughout the month.  Spring rains are common in April but not heavy—the average rainfall is 38 mm over the course of 30 days.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and other travellers and stay at the Baia Algarve Hotels in Carvoeiro.  This pair of hotels offers two luxurious options when staying in or near Carvoeiro—the Grand Bay Hotel or Crystal Bay Hotel.  The Crystal Bay Hotel is only a stone’s throw away from beautiful rocky cliffs that overlooking golden sand beaches.  Both hotels have elegant rooms, pools and access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the area.

Go to one of the most popular restaurants in the area before the busy summer season will make getting reservations much more difficult.  Ristorante Maxime, located near downtown Carvoeiro, is run by a Dutch family with a fine attention to detail.  Maxime offers both Dutch and French classic dishes in a charming dining room or on their open-air terrace.

Carvoeiro offers some of the most spectacular rock formations on the coast of Portugal.  One of the best examples is the Algar Seco, just 750 metres from the downtown main square.  Take a walk from downtown to see the beautiful sandy coloured rocks, weathered by millennia of ocean spray, against the brilliant turquoise sea.
