Weather Overview for Caen
The historic city, home to the grave of William the Conqueror, is famous for is buildings that were built during the reign of William the Conqueror. Unfortunately during the Battle of Normandy in 1944, much of the town was destroyed by heavy fighting which took place though there are still countless picturesque buildings scattered throughout the town.

Average daily temperature in July and August is 17 degrees, with an average
high of 21 to 22 degrees. Rain is generally fairly constant throughout the year

The winter months can bring quite chilly weather to the town, however due to its proximity to the coast conditions are kept slightly more mild than its inland counterparts.
December through until February see an average daily temperature of 5 degrees, with the minimum temperature falling to 2 degrees. It is rare for the temperature to fall below freezing, though it has happened in the past.
Rainfall does pick up slightly in the winter months, though it tends to be heaviest during the month of November.

The autumn months are generally slightly warmer than Spring, with summer conditions generally carrying through into September which sees daily highs of 19 degrees. September is really the fourth month of summer rather than the first month of autumn as the conditions throughout September have a tendency to be very similar to the conditions in June.
The mercury begins to fall in October, though the average daily maximum still sits at an enjoyable 15 degrees. In November rainfall picks up, the daily temperature falls to 7 degrees and winter begins to set in.
