Weather : Weather can be hot but changable.
Storms and high winds are often experienced.
Do not go near the sea in high winds as there is a steep shelf into sea : Dangerous.

Holiday : This is a beutiful town without the yob's.
Holidays in Blanes are special.
The beach is rough sand so best go to the rock area near harbour where its better.
if you like holidays full of english cafes and english bars then forget it, Blanes has neither and you'll feel safer and more relaxed because of this.

Places Recommended : Water world is an excursion from Blanes and is a great day out.

Recommend Blanes to others : Yes

Weather : Fantastic weather, even though the forecast was for rain and thunderstorms for the first two days.
We were not expecting it to be anywhere near as hot as it was, as we were going in May so were delighted when we got there.

Holiday : I wouldn't readily recommend it for young people, but thought it was perfectly suited for families or more 'adult' people looking for a relaxed, chilled time away.
Plenty of little streets to explore and a huge choice of eating places (some good, some bad) with a range of prices to suit all pockets.

Places Recommended : Fantastic food at Beir Express Bar and Bistro (ribs are a must!) and very friendly staff. Best lunches at Les Voltes XXLV (I think) just above the seafront run by same couple!

Take a hike to the top of the mount to Castle de St Joan for breathtaking views across the marina and the whole stretch of the beach (3k).

Every Monday morning there's a great market all along the seafront near the marina end for cheap leather, clothes, jewellery, etc.

Daily there's a fresh produce market in the main square which offers fabulous fruit and veg at excellent value.

Lots of quality shops tucked away along the back streets for strolling when taking a break from the sun/heat.

Glass bottomed boat trip is good, and if you have the time to go to the Botanical Gardens they are supposed to be fantastic (sadlt we didn't get there).

Friends spent a day in Barcellona, an easy trainride away, and insist everyone should schedule it into their plans!
