Averages for Bavaro in January
Found on the eastern coast of Dominican Republic in Punta Cana, Bavaro is one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Caribbean. Thanks to its superb weather, beautiful beaches, top-end accommodation and great amenities, this resort is the ideal place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The landscape of Bavaro is very flat, with a 10km beach stretching along the coastline. Most of the structures in the area are luxury hotels, although there are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and other services found in between.
Bavaro enjoys a tropical climate with very hot and humid weather throughout the year. There is little variation in temperature between months, with averages ranging from 24°C to 28°C. Instead of the usual seasons, the resort is split into two distinct periods – the dry season and the wet season. The dry season falls between December and April, whilst the wet season runs from May until November. Bavaro is also susceptible to hurricanes which are most likely in August and September.
If you’re looking for some guaranteed winter sun, head to Bavaro in January. Although this is the coldest time to visit, the resort enjoys an average temperature of 25°C, which barely changes throughout the month, made up of highs of 27°C and lows of 22°C. The average sea temperature during January is 27°C which, alongside an average of nine hours of sunshine each day, makes it a great month to spend some time at the beach during your holiday. Because January falls within the dry season, there is only 58mm of rainfall spread across seven days during this month.
