May sees temperatures in Antalya begin to soar as the summer season gets into full swing.

Daytime temperatures reach a pleasant high of 25°C (77°F) and only fall to around 15°C (59°F) in the evenings.

This means you can hit the beach and soak up the sunshine! There are plenty to choose from in the area – but make sure to slather on the sunscreen.

Even at night you would be fine to go out and about in light clothing. There is virtually no chance of rain and 13 hours of sunshine each day.

All the resorts are now open for the summer season so there is plenty of accommodation to choose from.

One of the most popular is the Belkon Club Hotel in Belek. All inclusive prices start from £68.99 per person for a week’s stay, and this includes all meals served in a traditional Turkish buffet style with both alcoholic and soft drinks.

Other facilities at Belkon include a children’s pool for those with families and a disco for younger holiday makers.

Mesut Hotel in Alanya has rooms from £72 and boasts an excellent location right by Kleopatra Beach. This includes all meals in the main restaurant; however meals in the a la carte restaurant are chargeable extras.

The three star Semoris Hotel in Side has rooms from £73 and is located just 2km from the town centre, with excellent transport links. Facilities within the resort include a buffet style restaurant, several bars and a children’s playground and swimming pool – ideal for families.

And traditional style Temple Side has rooms from £78, and offers beach side views, restaurants and several bars. Guests can take their meals from the buffet or, for an extra charge, from the a la carte restaurant.
