For a genuine local shopping experience, head to the Mercado central de Almeria. A bustling covered market place in the centre of town, this is the place to pick up any local delicacies. Fruits, vegetables, cheeses, fish, meat and olives are all available here at the local prices. There are also plenty of places to stop and have a coffee if all the sights and smells become too tiring.
