Puerto de Pollensa is a small resort town located on the bay of Pollença on the north eastern side of Majorca. In 2001 UK’s Sunday Times readers voted it their number one world wide holiday destination. It is the most Northern resort on the island and is located less than one hour from the islands capital of Palma. Lying in the north of Majorca and is home to fantastic beaches, a great family atmosphere and a glorious typical Mediterranean climate of hot dry summers and mild winters. The bay is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tramuntana mountain range.

With year round pleasant weather Puerto de Pollensa has a model Mediterranean climate which makes it a perfect holiday destination. The temperature rarely falls below 10 ºC in the winter and maintains an average high of 24ºC to 25 ºC throughout summer. Rain in Puerto de Pollensa is scarce and it is generally fine and dry across the seasons, however October will see the greatest average rainfall. Average rain days are distributed fairly evenly throughout the months- except for June through to August when the region sees significantly less rainfall.

From November to April you may need a light jacket if outside in the evenings as temperatures can fall to about 10 ºC. November has an average daily temperature of 13 ºC, before falling to 10 ºC in December and further cooling to 9 ºC in January and February. In Puerto de Pollensa you will find you self soaking up the sun, enjoying the many cafes and restaurants and making the most of the water temperature in the region which stays relatively warm year round.

From May through to October the city is basked in daily sunshine, and average temperatures hover in the high twenties. Averaging 18 ºC in May and moving up to a bath like 26ºC in August this provides for an excellent setting to take part in various water sports. June sees average daily temperatures of 22 ºC with July and August averaging 22ºC and 24 ºC respectively. August can see the average maximum temperature rising to 25 ºC which is slightly cooler than nearby coastal resorts on Mallorca.

The resort has a much laid back friendly atmosphere which makes it a popular destination for families and couples. On the warm balmy evenings of summer the streets are filled with visitors wandering through the streets between the marina where the yachts are docked, through the pavent cafes and along the famous Pine Walk.
