Located just inland from the southern coast of Spain; Granada features a warm, temperate climate with hot summers, filled with plenty of sunshine and mild enjoyable winters. Alike many Mediterranean climates, Granada’s enjoyable weather in combination with is scenic surroundings, create a particularly pleasurable vacation all year round. The summertime will feature many of the Granada’s famous outdoor festivals, carnivals, concerts and fiestas, particularly whilst the evenings are still mild and light.

With locality in the beautiful Andalucia region of Spain, spring is indeed a very appealing period of the year to vacation to Granada. With temperatures lingering at relatively mild climate and steadily beginning to rise, the days filled with sunlight guarantee to attract tourists. While during the day the air is warm, the night times are still quite chilly, with frosts being rather common in the early days of spring, during January and February. By the time April arrives; the characteristic hot summer weather is well on the way. Average climates during the spring linger around 15ºC, leaving a clean fresh feel to the air. This time of the year will typically result in leaves bursting and flowers blossoming creating a thrilling and unforgettable experience.   

With continuous sunny climates all the way from June until September; the summertime in Granada is comparatively hot. However, unlike the direct coastal regions, tends to be a dry heat and not humid. Average temperatures will linger around 25ºC, yet throughout July and August the weather be typically become tremendously hot, soaring up to 40ºC. Brisk, heavy showers and occasional rainy weather is common throughout the summer in Granada, however since the region is so dry they tend to be very short-lived and will vanish as hastily as they arrive.   

The autumn months are a popular period to visit Granada, as the crowds have died down and temperatures are still enjoyable. Average temperatures throughout September are still at a very pleasant 20ºC or higher and in October will only drop to approximately 17ºC. Autumn in Granada will commonly see various showers of rain and combined with the chilly nights, a jacket is always necessary.

Despite that face of being the coldest time of the year; in comparison to the chilly English temperatures, the winter months in Granada are still relatively mild. Many visitors will choose to vacation to Granada throughout the winter as the city is at is quietest and accommodation can be guaranteed at its lowest rates. Even though cold nights, ground frosts in the early mornings and reduction of daylight hours are common right throughout winter, Granada can still assure days filled with sunshine. A typical day in the peak of winter in Granada will consist of a combination of fine, sunny days with everlasting blue skies and cooler, overcast hazy skies.
